Before You Begin

This exercise is not about finding something new.
It is about staying a little longer with what is already there.

You don’t need to move.
You don’t need to search.

The Exercise

Choose a place you already know well.
Somewhere you pass by every day.

Stand still for a moment.

Look at the same scene for three full minutes.

At first, it may feel empty.
That is normal.

Stay anyway.

Notice what changes:

  • light shifting
  • small movements
  • sounds
  • reflections
  • subtle details you usually ignore

If you take a photo, take no more than two.

Then stop.

What This Is Really About

This exercise is not about repetition for improvement.

It is about staying with what is already known.

It trains patience without seeking change.

Returning, even when nothing feels new.

When You’re Done

There is nothing to review.
Nothing to compare.

You don’t need to remember this exercise.
It will quietly stay with you.

Photography can be a way of returning
to what is already in front of you.
